Review: If you like the immortal words of Shakespeare's eponymous play, then DO NOT watch this movie! I stayed only one hour, and it's an hour of my life I'll never get back. Im confused about how someone can bastardise Shakespeare to such an extent that it was almost unrecognisable.It really was Shakespeare for Dummies rewritten person who clearly so arrogant as to think the general public could not understand or enjoy the original text. Job well done g-Fellowes, because I hardly recognize any of this, so if that was your intention, then bravo! You really would be better to watch Shakespeare in Love, if you want an introduction to Romeo and Juliet, which stays true to the text and also has a nice story, but not this nonsense. Action was frivolous and had absolutely zero chemistry between the two leads. It was also very disconcerting to watch the boy played Romeo, who was more beautiful than most women I know. If you like Romeo & Juliet, you have peace of mind, stay away from this aberration. If you love Twilight, this may be for you. |
